Career Discovery Ladder | Rush's

Fast food restaurants, also known as quick service restaurants, are a specific type of restaurant characterized by its fast food cuisine and by its minimal table service.

The Rush family has been serving delicious shakes and burgers since 1940. Rush's prides themselves on providing customers with good, fresh made food and pairing it with service that is fast and courteous.

This career ladder spotlights several Rush's employees as they tell you about their experiences working in the quick service food industry. We'll take a look at the following jobs: Cashier, Crew Leader, Assistant Manager, General Manager, and President / CEO.

A job in the quick service food industry is a great way to get started in the hospitality and foodservice industry. These jobs offer high school students an opportunity to gain valuable experience while earning money for college (or to have fun) and offer a flexible schedule so you can still do your homework.

President and CEO of Rush's

As President and CEO of Rush's, Don Alcorn has climbed to the very top of the Rush's career ladder. Don started working as a cashier at Rush's in 1968 and has helped shape the company to what it has become today, serving "Fabulous Food…Fast!" Don enjoys being involved in the everyday operations of the company but also enjoys teaching his employees to do his job just as much. Many employees credit Don for instilling a friendly, family-oriented work atmosphere. Check out Don's video on being the President / CEO of Rush's. General Manager

Rachel's first job was working at Rush's and she's still there today. She's nearly climbed to the top of the career ladder and says she's loved every bit of it. Interacting with guests and counseling employees is some of her favorite things about being a Rush's General Manager. Assistant Manager
